Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had said that the Rajasthan budget for 2021-22 would aim to be “inclusive” in nature, numerous stakeholders, representatives and advocacy and interest groups have sent their suggestions and demands regarding the upcoming budget to the Chief Minister.

RajasthanBeats, an advocacy group led by Yaru Juneja, a young social activist has also made an appeal to the CM regarding the state budget. The group has been involved in activities of cultural promotion and heritage preservation in the state of Rajasthan. It does so by combining social programmes with awareness campaigns and bringing to light how the general people, at their own level, can contribute to improving the cleanliness around the monuments and various heritage sites in Rajasthan.

Yaru Juneja and the team of RajasthanBeats has written to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot demanding an increase in budget for activities related to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of Rajasthan, especially the monuments and structures in the cities of Udaipur, Jaipur and Jaisalmer. The group has suggested the launch of a set of online and ground level programmes with the motive of advertising and upholding the state’s numerous heritage sites.

Regarding the issues of overflowing water and garbage and dirt on roads and sidewalks that national and international tourists come across while visiting Jaisalmer, Jaipur and other surrounding areas, the advocacy group has recommended an increase in expenditure for environmental cleanliness and decontamination programmes.

RajasthanBeats has also requested the Chief Minister to allocate additional funds for the promotion of tourism in the state of Rajasthan. The group has recommended the conduction of online campaigns and workshops for drawing the nation’s attention to the rich cultural diversity that characterizes Rajasthan.
