  • The Department of IT, Govt. of Bihar participates in MeitY’s Azadi Ka Digital Mahotsav at IHC in delhi

     New Delhi: The Department of IT, Govt. of Bihar participates in MeitY’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Week. The Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar participated in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebration organized by MeitY, Government of India. DIT, Govt. of Bihar is participating on the dates viz., 29th & 30th November 2021 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

    Day 1 of the MeitY’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Week witnessed a great response in terms of footfall and the highlight of the day was the HIT COIVD App developed by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar. “By offering a forum for budding entrepreneurs and investors to strengthen and grow their businesses in Bihar’s IT industry, we hope to transform Bihar into a major IT hotspot in Eastern India.” Said Shri Jibesh Kumar, IT Minister Bihar.

    The secretary for the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of Bihar, Mr. Santosh Kumar Mall (IAS) as a Keynote Speaker in the event presented the HIT COVID App & talked about the App’s Idea, development and execution. He also mentioned in his presentation how Bihar was able to combat the deadly virus by ensuring regular health tracking and monitoring of the home isolated COVID-positive patients.

    The Home Isolation Tracking (HIT) COVID App helped Bihar in saving more than 300 lives and was instrumental in providing appropriate medical services to those in need of immediate medical attention.Stall no 18 & 19 which was allotted to the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of Bihar received a great response and compliments not only from the visitors but also from the participants for being one of the best stalls and putting up a great show and showcasing the IT revolution in the state of Bihar.

    Day 2 of MeitY’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Week was Start-up & Investment centric as a huge number of entrepreneurs and Angel investors were seen on one platform where the budding entrepreneurs got an opportunity to share their business ideas and innovation in the field of technology.

    Many start-up ideas were applauded and 4 ideas were awarded too. Many young entrepreneurs got an opportunity to showcase their projects and impress angel investors & VCs.

    A panel discussion on New Paradigms & Trends for Tech start-ups’ funding By Venture Capitalists, Angels Investors, Investment Platforms for Funding Tech-start-ups took place.

    Bihar’s ‘Invest IT Bihar’ campaign aims to encourage investors & entrepreneurs to invest in Bihar’s IT sector and to make this state a preferred investment destination in the eastern region. Bihar is on the way to becoming the next IT hub in the country, with infrastructure development going at a fast pace and offering IT / ITeS and electronics companies a great platform.

    The Government of Bihar is taking progressive steps in the field of Information Technology by working with a multidimensional approach to encourage investment in the state. The recent invitation by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar, to the IT/ ITeS & ESDM based Start-Ups to apply for rent-free office space in the Start-Up Hub of the state, situated on 9th & 13th floors of Biscomaun Tower, Patna-800 001, is one of the moves that will ensure the contribution of entrepreneurial, skilful youth of Bihar in development of IT sector in the state.

    The Department of Information Technology received 48 applications for rent-free office space from start-ups in a variety of areas, including business process outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing, data analytics, the internet of things, and business process management. Out of 48 applications received, 25 start-ups have been shortlisted for allocation following an evaluation procedure, as detailed on the official website of the Bihar Government’s Department of Information Technology.

    Now that Bihar as a state is ready with adequate infrastructure and technological advancement, The Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar is fostering Start-up culture by providing allotment of rent-free space for Strat-Ups operational in the field of IT/ ITeS, Software Technology Park IT, ESDM (Electronics System Development and Maintenance) along with firms involved in Research & Development of IT/ ITeS Products & Services to attract investment in the state.
