  • IOB: Nationwide Awareness Programme 2022

    “The Reserve Bank of India had announced the Phase three of the Nationwide Awareness Programme 2022 which aims at creating awareness among the general public about the Customer’s Charter of Rights, Internal Grievance Redressal Mechanism (IGR), Alternate Grievance Redressal Mechanism (AGR) and Cyber Frauds perpetuated on Customers. A Town Hall meeting at Chennai Collectorate was held for customers of All Banks of Chennai District (ABCD) on 01-11-2022 at 3pm where SLBC Convenor and General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank Thiru. S C Mohanta, Reserve Bank of India CGM and Ombudsman Dr. Tuli Roy, Lead District Manager of Chennai Mr. Varun Deepak R were present along with Bank officials and customers. SLBC Convenor and General Manager Thiru. S C Mohanta deliberated in detail on the need for the awareness programme. Reserve Bank of India CGM and Ombudsman Dr. Tuli Roy detailed on the Ombudsman scheme, rising cyber frauds and the awareness necessary to counter such frauds. There were more than 212 participants despite heavy rains in Chennai. Indian Overseas Bank, State Bank of India, Indian Bank and HDFC Bank made presentations on various topics. 30 Banks of Chennai District participated in this programme.”
