  • “Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai” at the penultimate day of the Yuva Natya Samaroh

New Delhi : The tribulations of a woman in a cruelly male-dominated world, that always puts her in the dock, were depicted brilliantly by young performers who staged Vijay Tendulkar’s play Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai at the penultimate day of the Yuva Natya Samaroh today.

The play, a moving satire on the persistent trials of women in society, is staged through in-script theater actors who decide to conduct a mock drama while rehearsing a performance. How the mock drama turns into a trial of the love life of a young schoolteacher and her helplessness in defending herself is what the story revolves around.

The Yuva Natya Samaroh has been organised by Government of Delhi along with the Sahitya Kala Parishad, with the aim of providing young theater talent a platform as well as an audience. The performers enthralled audience with plays like Quaid-e-Hayat, Khusar Phusar, Bada Natakia Kaun, Ashadh Ka Ek Din, Kabira Khada Bazar Mei, and Pratigya Yogandhrayad over the last six days.

Organized under the theme ‘amateurs of today – masters tomorrow’, the festival will culminate on February 21st with the play Adhe Adhure scheduled for the final day.

Today’s play was a poignant commentary on the times we live in, and depicts how a woman is perennially accountable to the moral brigade, rightfully or wrongfully, while men are hardly questioned.

The festival that started on February 11 and staged plays every evening at the Shri Ram Centre (excluding February 14, 16 and 17), was appreciated by the audience.
