Hyderabad :  You get hired for skills and fired for lack of soft skills.  In an ever changing business environment today’s job seekers need more skill sets than GAMPA NAGESHWAR RAOtheir peers required. In this light of background,  a 12 Day Free Training Program — “Impact 2103” for Unemployed and Underemployed Youth will be held from May 1st to 12th here in city at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, Secunderabad. The program is targeted at regular Degree Students, MBA Students, students from different streams and others. Over 2000 students and youth are expected to take part in this program. The classes will be held from 2 to 8pm during week days and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.  Four to Six sessions will be held by different subject experts.

The objective of the program is to impart quality training skills of prime importance such as soft skills, employability skills to the students, unemployed young people which will empower them to face the challenges and needs of modern day employment informed Mr. Gampa Nageshwara Rao, a trainer par excellence,  who is brain behind “Impact Program” way back in 1996. Since then the programme is being conducted every year in May uninterruptedly for the past 16 years. Today impact is the most awaited program. I request the youth across the state of Andhra Pradesh to utilize this opportunity particularly rural youth, he informed.

In the last 16 years well over 25,000 unemployed youth were trained. Most of them are from rural back ground.  What we need is a level playing field. Hence we target more at rural students informed Gampa Nageshwar Rao. Soft skills play a vital role for professional success; they help one to excel in the workplace and their importance cannot be denied in this age of information and knowledge. Good soft skills — which are in fact scarce — in the highly competitive corporate world will help you stand out in a milieu of routine job seekers with mediocre skills and talent To be successful in any job today one needs 15% technical skills and 85% soft skills.  Soft skills are personal attributes that enhance an individual’s interactions, job performance and career prospects. A person’s soft skill is an important part of their individual contribution to the success of an organization.  Of flate, soft skills are increasingly sought out by employers in addition to standard qualifications.

It is noticed that  in a number of professions such as sales, legal profession, teaching etc and others,  soft skills are more important over the long term than occupational skills. The ability to deal with people effectively and politely, more than their mere occupational skills, can determine the professional success of many jobs and professions today informed Gampa Nageshwar Rao.
