The voting weekend is largely restricted to individuals who are a part of the film industry and not the public at large. This ensures that the nominations derived are credible. The turnout by the industry was phenomenal and IIFA is one of the only Awards ceremonies for which the industry turns out collectively and in full force to cast their vote.

Every year, Academy members and the Film Industry are invited to cast their votes and shortlist nominations in the category of the Popular Awards. The Technical Award winners and the Popular Award nominations are derived from the voting weekend. Year on year over 1000 industry stalwarts, actors, directors, producers, technicians and composers and others have come forward to cast their votes, which will decide nominations for the awards.

Wiz Andre Timmins, Director, Wizcraft Entertainment International Ltd said, “As we draw closer to the 13th IIFA Weekend and Awards, we are immensely proud of how it has grown into an institution in itself. We are gearing up for the big celebrations and will continue to work towards providing an international platform for the industry and its many talents.”
