Jalandhar: More than 2600 students, belonging to more than 60 disciplines of Lovely Professional University, are undergoing Industrial Internship project with national and multinational companies of immense standing. They are to remain on internship with the approved industrial firms for six months. They also have to undergo an approved project work, worth many credits, over there. This is solely to develop skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to make an effective start for their professional career.

On this occasion, the Chancellor of the University, Mr Ashok Mittal said: “Industries expect of their manpower to fit into the industry from the day one.. For this, it has become most important for the educational Institutions, too, to have their syllabi in accordance to the needs of industry.” He informed: “We have designed the curriculum on these lines to help students prove themselves as productive members of global society and the economy. Thus we take these internship very seriously and to facilitate the students for their six months Industry training, each and every department of the University has Project Advisers and Training Co-ordinators as well.” He added: “In fact, actual industrial experience is an integral part of the student’s formal education. Going under this project, students gain valuable experiences, in addition to their regular classroom and laboratory experiences, by working in an industrial environment and culture. Also at many cases, this provides for additional opportunity to be absorbed by the companies.”

It is worth illustration that Industrial Internship Project is oriented towards developing the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to make an effective start towards ever glowing professional career.
