Former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behura has appeared before the Joint Parliamentary Committee in the 2G scam on Tuesday.

He became the first accused in 2G scam case to depose before the JPC examining the issue.

Behura, was granted bail by the Supreme Court in May.

The JPC had decided to summon Behura as a witness before it on 11th and 18th April but he had written to the panel seeking more time to prepare himself before appearing as a witness.

Behura was arrested on 2nd February last year by CBI along with Raja and his personal secretary R K Chandolia on charges of cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and criminal misconduct.
