Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came down heavily on opposition alliance and show of unity in a TMC rally, saying it is a grouping of corruption, negativity and instability and inequality.

He said the Opposition is staring at defeat in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and looking for excuses ahead of their impending loss and thus are vilifying electronic voting machines.

Mr. Modi was interacting with BJP booth workers from Hatkanangale, Kolhapur, Madha, Satara in Maharashtra and from South Goa Parliamentary constituencies through through video-conferencing.

The Prime Minister alleged that Opposition parties do not have faith in Constitutional institutions and are busy maligning the government.

He said yesterday’s TMC-led opposition parties’ rally in Kolkata was only to protect and promote dynastic politics.

Without naming West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mr Modi said the party which was involved in large scale violence even in panchayat polls in the state is now talking about saving democracy in the country. He said BJP has alliance with 125 crore people and their aspirations.

Talking about the Government’s decision to give 10 percent reservation belonging to economically weaker sections in upper caste, the Prime Minister said the Opposition parties would not have been so anxious if this decision was not effective. He rejected the allegation that the decision has been taken in view of polls.

During the interaction, Mr. Modi also wished the ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar a speedy recovery, and called him the architect of modern Goa.
