Heavy rain continues to lash several parts of north India.

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain paralysed normal life in several parts. Many major rivers including the Ganga, Ramganga, Sharda, Yamuna and Ghaghra have crossed the danger level at many places triggering flash flood in several Terai and western districts.

AIR correspondent quoting met office reports that a maximum of 300 mm rain has been recorded at Trimohani ghat in eastern UP.

In other districts, the 40 to 150 mm of rain has been recorded.

The Gaghra river has crossed danger mark in Barabanki and in Ayodhya. Sharda river is also flowing above the danger mark in Lakhimpurkhiri. Low lying areas of Behraich are under flood threat. The flood alert has been announced for one hundred villages.

In Uttarakhand, incessant rain has hampered normal life. Badrinath, Yamnotri and Gangotri yatra route and traffic on many other roads has been affected due to landslides.

Six persons were killed when a jeep fell into Alakhnanda river in Rudra Prayag district on Friday. Met Department has predicted light to moderate rain at some places in the state in the next 24 hours.
