  • Environment Conservation Month at the Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon

    Published on April 28, 2011

New Delhi: The environment today is becoming less capable of sustaining the growth impact of our economic activities. With more and more industrialization and corporates eating into the calm and scenic nature, lesser is the attention given to conserve the environment. Keeping this thought in mind and tying it back to the Marriott Environmental Month – April 2011, the Courtyard by Marriott; Gurgaon is all set to kick start their annual activity “Sprit to Preserve” – an initiative to reduce, reuse & recycle, which will include series of events aimed @ engaging staff participation & general public to provide education around key environmental issues.

Sales “Go Green Road Show” was the highlight of the evening which witnessed active participation of more than two hundred elite Marriott clientele from leading brands across India who came together on this common platform and bestowed their bit to the society by indulging in tree plantation. They also shared their concerns for the need of environmental reforms and how each one of us can make a difference to our surroundings. The “Go Green” road show was conceived in response to the ever increasing pressure upon our fragile eco-system. This initiative marks the Marriott’s biggest effort to promote green practices on the road, at work, at home and in the community.

The hotel also exhibited an exotic display of art solely dedicated to the theme “green”.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Matthew Cooper, General Manager, the Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon said, “We realize it is our responsibility to continually work towards creating ecological awareness to build up a healthy planet. It is an honor to be associated with Marriott International in this pledge to conserve the environment. We believe that if we all do our part, no matter how small, it can help to make a difference to our local & global environment.”

On the whole, the event was a grand success and everyone enjoyed the environmentally-themed action filled evening. It ensured that there was always something for everybody to see and do. The road show was attended by people with many years of practical experience from various fields.
