Stage42 is a brand new festival that will showcase some of India and the world’s most celebrated artists and experiences in comedy, music, and theatre. The festival will take place in seven cities – Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune – between February and March 2015. Stage42 puts together a handpicked selection of artists and experiences, performing at a variety of different venues in each of these cities through the course of the festival. From huge stand-up comedy acts, to exciting musical sets in clubs, to unique theatre performances, this festival will give fans enough reasons to step out of their homes and have a great time.

Over 150 shows across a variety of genres, many of which are already on sale on Insider.in, comprise this new festival. In comedy, these include the Russell Peters Almost Famous World Tour, a tour by critically-acclaimed comic Bill Burr, a nationwide tour by the always edgy, All India Bakchod (AIB), and Pretentious Nights featuring the guys behind the popular YouTube series Pretentious Movie Reviews. In music, expect a wide spectrum of musical performances, from Nucleya to Bhayanak Maut. Stage42 will also see some spectacular theatre shows including Akhtari, Dastangoi and more.

Stage42 will also host multiple club nights in each city and these will include performances by bass monster Nucleya, indie folk band Swarathma & Friends, comedy rock band Vir Das’ Alien Chutney, stand-up comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath of Pretentious Movie Reviews, comedy collectives The Improvisers & SNG Improv, India’s first reggae sound system, Reggae Rajahs, and many more.

An additional date on the Russell Peters Almost Famous World Tour has been added in Mumbai. The new show will take place on February 12, a day after the first Mumbai show.

A list of all the confirmed shows so far is attached with this release, with many more dates and shows set to be revealed soon.

Stage42 is put together by Only Much Louder, the firm behind India’s happiest music festival, the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, the Russell Peters Notorious World Tour in 2013, among other live and content properties. Speaking about the new festival, OML CEO Vijay Nair said, “We’re very proud to be putting together a festival of this nature, one that presents music, comedy, and other performing arts in a really engaging way for fans. Expect to discover a lot of new artists, experiences and even cuisines when Stage42 hits your city, alongside some really great performances by some of the biggest names in the business.”
