  • A music video that encourages to say ‘no’ to suicide

    Published on August 14, 2020

The first word we associate with a music video, especially in these times, is ‘entertainment’. However, social media influencers Adnaan Shaikh and Jumana Khan have shot for a song titled ‘Ro Ro Ke Guzre Din’, which aims to spread awareness about saying ‘no to suicide’. What makes the release of the song even more special is that it will coincide with Adnaan’s birthday on August 7. The track has been composed and sung by Hardik Tailor and Divya Dutt, and the proceedings from it will be contributed to a charity cause.

Jumana says, “Ours is a heartbreak song with a message for all. It asks everyone to enjoy life and be with those who love and respect them, and to say ‘no’ to suicide. The song starts with a girl ending ties with her boyfriend, which leaves him in a frenzy. While she moves on, he is shattered. Unable to cope up with the break-up, he decides to end his life. However, a call from his mother makes him realise that he has to live for people who need him. I am glad that we have conceptualised a song which is the need of the hour. We are sure that the youth will connect with it.”

“I felt a gamut of emotions while singing ‘Ro Ro ke Guzre Din’. Since suicide is a big issue worldwide, we wanted a song, which would strike a chord with the audience’s hearts. It is a genuine and honest effort from our end to create awareness,” says singer-composer Hardik Tailor.

Adnaan shares, “Our music video conveys a strong message. As an individual, it is important to educate the youth, who are falling prey to suicide. I hope people relate to our song and understand the importance of its message. I am glad that the video is releasing on my birthday.”
“In today’s world, where masala videos are sure-shot hits, we have taken a different path. Our concept is very strong, and we are hopeful that people will like it,” say Viral Motani and Pakkhi Hegde, producers of the song.
Pakkhi Hegde started her acting career with a lead role in a daily soap on Doordarshan named Main Banungi Miss India. She then worked with Manoj Tiwari in Bhaiya Hamar Dayavaan, Paramveer Parsuram and Ganga Jamuna Saraswati, and with Pawan Singh in Pyar Mohabbat Zindabaad and Devar Bhabhi. Hegde worked with Bollywood  actor Amitabh Bachchan in the film Ganga Devi. She played the female protagonist in the Marathi film Sat Na Gat, with  Sayaji Shinde and Mahesh Manjrekar.
