The country’s growing economy, government’s modernization plans, rising disposable income, expanding middle class and growing number of urban households are some of the growth drivers of the woodworking sector. In addition, the anticipated rise in tourism, realty and hospitality sectors is also expected to spur the wood and furniture demand in the country.

Some of the key highlights of the LIGNA 2015 are:

    ·         Visitors will get to see exciting new machines that can handle not just wood, but plastics, composite panels, composites, insulation and construction materials as well. These additional, non-wood applications are advantageous in a range of areas, particularly caravan and boat building, vehicle customization, ship and aircraft interior finishing, and plastics processing and fabrication.

    ·         Participants can attend the Wood Industry Summit which will present the latest wood industry technologies and also provide a forum for leaders of industry, science and government to tap fast-growing markets.

    ·         Witness the “Fibers in Process” group pavilion that will provide a wood industry perspective on the various processes and technologies used in the pulp and paper industry.

The previous LIGNA show attracted 90,000 visitors from more than 90 countries. Over the last few years, LIGNA has been recognised as the leading trade fair for the forestry and wood industries, providing innovative sustainable technology and solutions that have the collective support of business, research and government associations.
