After 168 days in space, three crew members from the International Space Station returned to Earth on Sunday (June 3).
Anton Shkaplerov of Roscosmos, Norishige Kanai of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and NASA astronaut Scott Tingle landed near a remote town in Kazakhstan at 1239GMT (8:39 a.m. EDT / 6:39 p.m. in Kazakhstan).
While in space, the Expedition 55 crew studied the effects of microgravity on bone marrow and researched plant growth in space.
This was the first mission for Tingle and Kanai.
After landing, Shkaplerov ate from a bowl of grapes and said he is feeling well and is happy to be back on Earth.
