  • New Delhi – The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and GIST (Global Indian Scientist and Technocrats) Forum  jointly concludes the GI-YSRI Conference (Global Indian Young Scientists Research & Innovation) at the National Agricultural Science Complex, N. Delhi. The GI-YSRI was a 3-day conference that started on May 31st.

    The concluding ceremony was attended by Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble MoS Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, GOI who was the Chief Guest. Prof. (Dr) Tanuja Nesari, Director AIIA was the Guest of Honour. Present at the occasion were Dr Yelloji-Rao Mirajkar, International Convenor, GIST, senior faculty members of AIIA & Vijanana Bharati along with eminent personalities, scholars, and leaders from the Indian diaspora worldwide, focusing on promoting collaboration and innovation in the fields of science and technology.

    The primary objective of the Conference was to introduce GIST to heads of agencies, showcase ongoing collaborations and partnerships, identify new opportunities for collaborations, and emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion in promoting science and technology. The event served as a platform for inviting leaders ands and engaging the scientific and technological diaspora, highlighting and discussing ongoing partnerships and collaborations between the science and technology diaspora and Indian scholars and leaders, and addressing important societal needs. Furthermore, GIST aims to develop a model and platform for open and thoughtful deliberations and scientific dialogues on key national and international topics, ensuring that no individual or group is left behind.

    “Challenges should be tackled properly to overcome the difficulties. India produces 40% of the world millets when we are doing so much but, it is sad that no Indian company in the food processing field has made its name in the world. For that we need to go back to our culture.

    With a spirit to awaken the farmers the Minister said, “We have to create a balance between demand and supply  to become successful.”

    “We are proud to collaborate with the Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Forum (GIST) as co-hosts of this event. We must act local to go global. The AIIA is a tertiary health care centre that has generated its name with many health care initiatives like during COVID we distributed 80000 swastha Raksha Kits to Delhi Police and have till now successfully treated 15 lakhs patients.” said Prof. (Dr) Tanuja Nesari, Director of AIIA.

      Dr. Yelloji Rao Mirajkar, said “We are thankful to AIIA team and Prof. (Dr) Tanuja Nesari  under Ministry of Ayush for their unconditional support in fulfilling the vision and mission of GIST. We are committed in taking GIST to every part of the world. There will be hard work in doing so but as it is correctly said that when great things start happening good people get connected, today GIST has the support of all the well-wishers and with that we are confident we will do our best.”

    Engaging sessions, interactive discussions, and presentations on a wide range of topics, exploring avenues for scientific progress and innovation were discussed at the event. Participants from various scientific disciplines also shared their expertise, experiences, and insights, facilitating valuable exchanges and creating a conducive environment for collaboration.

    The event at the National Agricultural Science Complex served as a milestone in fostering a vibrant community of Indian scientists and technocrats, united in their commitment to advancing knowledge and driving scientific development for the betterment of society.
