  • Amara Raja Group Founder Chairman, Dr Ramachandra N Galla conferred Lifetime Achievement Award at the Energy Storage India, International Conference and Exhibition

    Dr Ramachandra N Galla, Chairman, Amara Raja Group, has been conferred with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the much coveted 6th International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Storage, EV and Microgrids in India.

    Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, Shri Suresh Prabhu, was the keynote speaker at the “Make in India Session” at the conference. Energy Storage India, 2019 showcased notable dignitaries, including representatives from Energy storage & EV Tender Authorities, State & central Regulators, Policy Makers and Government Bodies, scholars and researchers.

    Held from January 10th to January 11th, 2019, themed “Implementing National Energy Storage Mission”, the event attracted more than 2000+ industry experts, 100+ speakers, 50+ exhibitors and partners participating from over 25 countries. Jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf India, Customized Energy Solutions and powered by India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), ESI 2019 once again gave a solid push to the growth of Energy Storage sector.

    Receiving the award, Dr Ramachandra Galla, Chairman, Amara Raja Group, said, “I am extremely happy to receive this coveted award and there can be no better platform than this to receive such an award. It is an honour to be here talking to scientists, government, ministers and entrepreneurs. In alignment with the views and ideas presented in the conference here, We are conscious about issues concerning energy security for future generations and the need for tapping into sustainable energy resources. Our problems and issues are different in the Indian context and we are committed to work with everyone else in our journey towards alternative technologies and solutions to address the energy needs of the country. When I started our entrepreneurial journey in 1985, there were no specifications and standards to guide us. We successfully introduced new technologies then. Today, we are poised to bring in new technologies and will make rapid strides in the area of energy storage applications to address the future needs.”

    The mega event emerged as a veritable platform for exhibitors to dig deeper into the Energy Storage market, reach clients and enhance the customer base both on local as well as global grounds. The event is supported by the Government of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology and Niti Ayog.

    The event showcased real-world innovative energy storage solutions, cutting-edge production technologies and proven strategies in the Energy Storage space that India would need to implement, for the much awaited National Energy Storage mission. The key areas of focus for the exhibition included Energy Storage Solutions, Electric Vehicles and infrastructure, Production Technologies, Renewables (solar and wind), Components and Materials, Power electronics, Electric Mobility, Microgrids, Smartgrids, Smart City Developers and many more.
