    Amarnath Yatra suspended from Baltal and Pahalgam routes

    In Jammu & Kashmir, the Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended today from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes to the holy Amarnath cave.

    It is suspended due to slippery road condition following heavy rain which is continuing in Srinagar and elsewhere in the Valley. Meteorological department predicted wet weather during next 24 hours across the state.

    Our correspondent reports officials said that Yatra will be resumed only after improvement in weather and assessment of road conditions along the routes on both sides.

    Over thousand Yatris had darshan at the Holy Cave till yesterday evening. Governor N N Vohra who is also Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, is personally monitoring overall arrangements and related matters round the clock to ensure smooth conduct of Yatra and safety of all the visiting pilgrims.

    Over 2 Lakh 12 thousand persons have secured advance registration for undertaking Yatra.
