Umang Dairies Limited, a member unit of JK Organisation and significant player in the Dairy Creamers segment reported a robust
growth in its Sales and Profit for the year ended March 31, 2013.

Revenue from Operations for the year was Rs. 173.80 Cr. up by 16% over previous year (Rs.150.21 Cr ), Operating Profits higher by  16% at Rs. 18.29 crore (Previous Year Rs 15.74 crore) and PBT rose by 17% to Rs.16.17 crore (Previous Year Rs 13.83 crore).

The Board of Directors at the meeting held on 4th May 2013 approved the Company’s Annual Accounts and proposed a maiden dividend of 15% on equity share.

Shri R C Periwal, Director Umang Dairies observed “Umang is in an expansion mode and during the financial year 2012-13 it enhanced capacity of its Drying Plant from 3 lac litres per day to 4.5 lac litres per day. In the backdrop of an overall depressed economic scenario, an increase of 16% in the top line and 17% in the bottom line is good performance. Umang is working on plans to expand its product portfolio and will launch some new products shortly.  It is also exploring possibilities of acquisition of some existing dairy company having synergy with its product portfolio.”

Umang also operates and manages, under a long term agreement, another dairy facility belonging to the Group where it processes and packs over 5 lac litres per day of Liquid Milk in poly pouches for Mother Dairy. Capacity utilization in 2012-13 was 101% in 2012-13 vis-à-vis 87% in 2011-12.

Capacity of this facility has also been increased from 5 lac litres per day to 6 lac litres per day. This makes Umang one of the few companies in India having processing facility of over one million litres of milk per day at single location.
