  •  Kollam : Aster DM Healthcare has officially taken over the operations of Padmavati Medical Foundation located at Sasthamkotta, Kollam. Following this alliance, the institution will be known as Aster PMF. This significant development was announced by Farhaan Yasin, Aster India Vice President, during a press conference held at Kollam Press Club. The soft launch ceremony is scheduled to take place at the hospital on Wednesday and will be honored by the presence of Kovoor Kunjumon MLA. Aster PMF is the seventh hospital in the state under the Aster Group. It was on last May 31, Aster DM Healthcare entered into an agreement with PMF in this regard.  

    Aster PMF will encompass an array of exceptional medical treatments across 16 departments, including cardiac science, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, gynecology general surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, nephrology, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, dentistry, rheumatology, and psychiatry. Furthermore, patients will have access to the expertise of highly skilled doctors from Kochi Aster Medcity, with services initially being available three days a week in the Neurosurgery and ILC departments. 

    The hospital boasts a state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes a 24-hour emergency department and ambulance service, four fully equipped operation theatres, a CT scan facility, and comprehensive lab services. Currently, the hospital accommodates 100 beds, and plans are underway to expand this capacity by an additional 50 percent in the future. Additionally, 35 ICU beds will be established in specialized units such as Medical Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, Neonatal ICU, Surgical ICU, and CTVS ICU, ensuring comprehensive critical care to patients in need. 

    “Aster DM Healthcare’s vision for this integration is firmly rooted in its commitment to providing the best healthcare services, and more specialized treatment facilities will be made available in the future,” said Farhaan Yasin, Aster India- Vice President.  

    Aster PMF’s operational Head V. K Vijeesh, the Chief of Medical Services Dr. Nafil Abdul Majeed, the Clinical Coordinator Dr. V. Raghavan, and others attended the press conference.
