Kochi  – As part of Women’s Day celebrations, Aster Medcity launched “MedLady,” aimed at addressing the unique healthcare needs of women. Dr. Alda Davis, entrepreneur and content creator inaugurated the initiative. 

In today’s fast-paced world, women often find themselves meticulously attending to the needs of others, yet overlooking their own well-being. Despite the prevalence of health concerns, there exists a noticeable reluctance among women to address their intimate health issues, often confining from societal inhibitions.  Recognizing this critical gap in healthcare, Aster Medcity has taken proactive steps to bridge it. Through the MedLady initiative, Aster Medcity ensures that female doctors are readily available across all departments of the hospital.

“Our aim is to provide a comfortable space for women to voice their health concerns without hesitation. By deploying women doctors, we offer a supportive environment where women feel empowered to prioritize their health and well-being,” said Dhanya Syamalan-Head of Operations-Aster Medcity. 

Dr. Soumya John (Consultant – General Surgery), Dr. Teena Anne Joy (Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Dr. Elizabeth Sunila CX (Consultant – Pulmonology), and Dr. Teffy Jose (Consultant – Interventional Cardiology), Dhanya Syamalan (Head of Operations) and Thangam Rajarathinam (Nursing Head) along with other hospital workers were part of the ceremony.  The launch event was held in conjunction with the seventh edition of Kochi Mercato, featuring female entrepreneurs at Taj Vivanta.
