With changes in the season, our bodies change too. So with the change in season, our bodies require a change in lifestyle and diet to maintain a balance. Following a healthy diet, regular workouts, and other lifestyle changes can keep the body warm and disease-free. Chilly air with shifts in weather can make the body more vulnerable to ill health. So taking extra care of the body from the inside out is mandatory. Especially in seasonal changes, it is important to keep the immunity of the body strong and intact to withstand the cold weather. The winter season causes muscles to stiffen so exercise should not be missed.

Some Ayurvedic tips to stay healthy this winter season-

    1. SEEK VITAMIN-D– Vitamin D is essential for the body for several reasons i.e. for healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin- D protects against several diseases. It regulates the absorption of calcium and promotes smooth immune system functioning.

Deficiency of Vitamin D in the body especially in winters can make you fall ill easily and lower your immunity as well.

    2. TURMERIC – We have grown listening to this that Turmeric milk is the best and complete treatment to cure a wound or a disease as it has anti-bacterial properties. Turmeric in itself taken in any form is the best remedy to recover from a disease. Its daily consumption is mandatory in diet to let no bacteria affect our body. Turmeric also helps the body to fight against viral infections and it keeps our body a little warm from inside.

    3. NUTS AND SEEDS– Nuts like Almonds, Pistachio, Anjeer are always good for health as they ensure a healthy heart and body. A combination of Seeds like Watermelon, Sunflower, and Flax seeds are rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants that are important for health. Nuts and Seeds are power-packed with nutrition.

    4. ROLE OF AYURVEDIC HERBS AND SPICES– Ayurvedic herbs protect the body from various diseases and offer a variety of health benefits, including improved digestion and provide relief from seasonal viral infections. Spices that are readily available to us in our kitchens like- Cinnamon, Cardamom, Turmeric, Ginger, Garlic have several meditational properties with health benefits for our body. 5. SLEEP– No matter which season it is, one should have a proper sleep schedule. Most people are still unaware of the importance of sleep. One can get affected by several diseases if one does not maintain a sound sleep schedule. Sleep is essential for every process in the body as it affects the physical and mental functioning of the brain and body, our ability to fight various diseases, develop immunity, and our metabolism.
