  • Bacardi Limited Names New Global Chief Information Officer

    Hamilton: Bacardi Limited, the largest privately held spirits company in the world, today announced Caroline Basyn has been named Global Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for all Information Technology (IT) activities of Bacardi Limited globally including leading the Company’s overall IT strategy and implementation. She will join Bacardi July 1 and will be based in Geneva, Switzerland. Ms. Basyn will also be a member of the Bacardi Leadership Team.

    Ms. Basyn, 50, joins Bacardi from a 26-year career at Procter & Gamble (P&G) where she was most recently Director of Trade Fund Management Solutions, with responsibility for the delivery of a global platform to manage trade funds of significant promotional spends with customers to promote P&G products in key retail locations across the world. In this role, she delivered a breakthrough solution to enable better management of these spends though better visibility and insights on promotion effectiveness, while ensuring operational excellence of the existing transactional systems.

    “My goal is to truly integrate and elevate the vital function of Information Technology and all it has to offer in today’s global environment for Bacardi Limited and its iconic brands,” said Caroline Basyn, newly named Global CIO for Bacardi Limited.

    In her 26 years with Procter & Gamble, Ms. Basyn held various positions in the U.S. and Europe including Project Manager for European Data Centre Integration, Group Manager for European Order Shipping Billing System,
    Department Head of Regional Infrastructure and Technical Support, Associate Director of Corporate Databases where she integrated regional and country databases into an SAP global data client instance – a first in the
    industry, Associate Director for Baby, Feminine and Family Care IT business units, Director of Supply Network Solutions, and Director of Workplace and Personal Computing where she managed all the P&G headquarter sites around the world both combining Site Facilities and IT infrastructure services. She also led the “European IT Women Leadership Team” for retention and progression of women in the IT industry.

    Ms. Basyn has undergraduate and graduate business degrees in Mathematics and Computer Sciences from Université de Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium.

    Ms. Basyn succeeds Jeri Dunn, who recently retired from the Company. During her five years with Bacardi Limited, Ms. Dunn is credited with transforming the Company’s global technology infrastructure to deliver faster and better
    management information. Ms. Dunn worked 30 years in the IT field, 22 of which were in Consumer Packaged Goods.
