    Published on November 24, 2015

Aiming to increase and improve perception about Indian engineering products in the overseas markets, the Brand India Engineering campaign has made a IBEFstrong presence at The Big 5, Dubai. This is the first major international event executed under the Brand India Engineering campaign. IBEF, the nodal organisation for the campaign, has activated strategic branding positions to highlight the strengths of the Indian engineering sector in the area of Pumps & Valves.

Scheduled to be held from November 23-26, 2015, The Big 5 is one of the world’s major building and construction shows with a participation of over 3,000 exhibitors from more than 52 countries. IBEF has showcased the strengths of Indian engineering in the Pumps & Valves sector by using mediums like print and outdoor advertising at the World Trade Centre, Dubai.

Over 40 Indian companies are participating at The Big 5 this year. Names like Shakti Pumps, Crown Laminates, Sudarshan Extrusions, Silicon Laminates, Jain Irrigation, Gandhi Automations and Ashirvad Pipes are the few leading companies participating at The Big 5 this year. The Indian manufacturers are looking for greater interaction with UAE companies and customers as well as scout for opportunities in both inward and outward investments.

The combination of a strong showcase by Indian companies backed by a strategic branding campaign from IBEF is expected to successfully highlight India’s capacity to contribute to major developments in the UAE and other Middle East markets.

Describing the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region a key market for Indian companies, Mr Ravi Capoor, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, IBEF, said, “Trade relationships between the GCC and India need to traverse beyond the conventional exports and imports. India could use its expertise in the engineering sector to meet the requirements of GCC countries with large Indian conglomerates and a strong base of small and medium enterprises.”

Both India and UAE have always been dynamic partners in trade and economic relationship, and the bilateral trade has grown tremendously to US$ 59 billion last year and both governments have agreed to boost trade by 60 percent over the next five years.

Mr Capoor added the Big 5 is a great opportunity to showcase ‘Made in India’ products and an even greater platform for Indian manufacturers to highlight the quality and the value proposition they offer.

With a focus on key product segments like Pumps & Valves and Electrical Equipment & Products, the Brand India Engineering campaign aims at helping the industry reach the sophisticated high-end of the product spectrum in the engineering sector.
