Mumbai : The BSE Institute, Canada’s Ryerson University and the Government of Ontario are collaborating to launch a competition to promote startups in India. Budding Indian entrepreneur’s with global aspirations can enter “The Next Big Idea” contest to win a 3-week trip to Toronto, Canada’s high-tech capital. There, they will be provided access the Digital Media Zone at Ryerson University, a leading startup incubator. Here they will be provided an opportunity to meet mentors, industry experts, entrepreneurs and investors.
The contest has commenced today and will close on 28th September 2013.
The contest is open to Indian companies in areas such as:
• Clean technology
• Digital media
• Information technology
• Life sciences
Or any other tech innovation
The top three winners will receive:
• A trip to Toronto, including flight and accommodation.
• A customized 3-week program based in the Digital Media Zone at Ryerson University.
• Advice and mentoring from industry experts.
• Meetings and networking opportunities with investors, incubators and partner companies.
• Access to the DMZ and its proven incubation process and innovation ecosystem.
• Opportunity to explore Toronto’s Discovery District, a hotbed of innovation responsible
for $1+ billion R&D annually.
• Special recognition at the Canadian Innovation Exchange
The BSEI-Ryerson Incubation Center of Excellence (BRIC) was setup recently to offer startups expert guidance and mentoring to refine their concept, help them get their business up and running and also connect them with investors for securing capital.
