New Delhi: Wego, the leading travel search site in the Asia Pacific and Middle East, together with big data and travel review partners TrustYou, today shared the top 15 rated hotel swimming pools according to thousands of Asia Pacific hotel reviews.

Top 15 Swimming Pools in APAC“The top four rated pools in APAC are all located in Cambodia, which wasn’t quite what we were expecting,” said Joachim Holte, Chief Marketing Officer for Wego. “Cambodia is a spectacular destination but we didn’t expect the country to take out the top four spots with such high pool ratings.”

The Plantation in Phnom Penh rated number one with a score of 95, with three properties in Siem Reap taking the next three top positions, and the Golden Temple Hotel at number 11. Nearby Vinh Hung Emerald Resort in Vietnam came in at number five with a score of 94, followed by the Shangri-La Hotel and Park Hotel Clarke Quay (six and seven) in Singapore.

“These properties are in such varied locations and very much differ in styles, but all have succeeded on leaving a lasting impression on their guests. It shows that an exotic, atmospheric swimming pool in a great location has a huge impact on hotel guests,” added Holte.

The Plantation in Phnom Penh has a history that dates back to the 1930s, thought to be originally built by the French as an administration centre. It has a 20m aqua green slate pool as well as a winning Red Pool Bar adjoined to a terrace and art gallery.

Hong Kong was represented at number eight by the Hotel ICON with it’s rooftop pool overlooking the harbour, and Phuket registered at number nine and 15 with The Senses Resort and Hotel Twinpalms respectively. Kuala Lumpur’s Renaissance Hotel rated number ten on the list with a score of 94.

Two properties in Bangkok, the Chatrium Hotel Riverside and Pathumwan Princess Hotel scored the number 13 and 14 spots (both tied at 92), with the former scoring the most mentions of all in the collected data.

“These rankings are based on pool scores from TrustYou’s Meta-ReviewsTM, which are essentially a summary of all verified travel reviews written worldwide, making this the definitive ranking of the best hotel pools in Asia Pacific,” said Benjamin Jost, CEO and co-founder of TrustYou. “The hotels that made the list stood out so much to travellers that they wanted to tell their friends, family and other travellers about the outstanding pool atmosphere and experience.”
