New Delhi : RPG Group’s flagship company, CEAT Ltd., with an objective of improving and enhancing the service standards of the 38000 Crore tyre industry, conceived and launched India Road Transportation Awards (IRTA) in the year 2010. After the overwhelming response of the second edition of IRTA, the next step undertaken by CEAT in recognizing these Winners is the launch of ‘Transporters Book of Excellence‘ to showcase all the winners of the IRTA 2010 and their innovations. This book will reach out to more than 1000 companies who are customers of the transportation industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vinod Kumar, Head Marketing, CEAT Ltd. said, “We are very proud to announce the second edition of India Road Transportation Awards and the launch of ‘Transporters Book of Excellence‘. The book will help the companies to make an informed decision in contracting the right type of transporters as per their logistics needs. Companies will be able to reduce costs in various way such as bringing down inventory days due to knowing exact delivery dates, reducing Loss due to pilferage and damage in transit etc.

The IRTA 2011 has got off to a blazing start with more than 750 applications received from Transporters. The Awards are slated to be held towards the end of June 2011.

The objective of the award is to recognize excellence and making it known to all stakeholders’ and to create aspiration for the 2nd generation entrepreneurs. These awards will be immensely beneficial to the industry as benchmarking for excellence in various fields, from operations to environment to human resource management, use of technology and innovation will drive international best practices in the industry.
