‘Clash of the Boards 2011’, an online contest along with interactive fun-filled activities like quizzes, IQ tests, Facebook applications, scholarships conceptualized and ideated by the faculty at Sinhal Classes, will be held soon and will pit students of various boards against each other.

This unique and thrilling online contest and drew an overwhelming response in the very first year of its inception in 2010. In India, there are a host of boards at State, National and International levels such as ICSE, CBSE, SSC, IGCSE etc. ‘Clash of the Boards,’ provides a matrix approach that will help you in comparing various boards.

The contest has been launched with a primary objective to spread awareness among the students and guardians to select the best board option for the student. The initiative is backed by some of the top names in the Indian education map. Sinhal Classes is the primary promoter of the cause and is joined by goIIT.com (promoted by Vriti, an Intel venture company).

An interesting variant this year has been a teaser essay contest which has been announced by Sinhal Classes as part of an overall campaign in the countdown to the actual contest. Titled, ‘Concept Learning vs Rote Learning’, this essay contest is open to all school students from Class VIII to Class X and would provide valuable insight to the intellect of the young minds and their approach to education at large. This contest will be judged by an eminent panel of judges and exciting cash prizes await the winners.

“It is usually assumed that state board encourages rote learning but we have seen a huge desire in SSC students to understand concepts instead of just mugging-up. Clash of the Boards is our small attempt to create a uniform level-playing-field for students from all boards: ICSE, CBSE, SSC, or IGCSE,” opines Sudhanshu Sinhal, Director, Sinhal Classes.

The organizers hope to initiate a national debate on the education system at large through these contests. In the coming days, the panel also plans to launch nationwide awareness programs and initiate a national debate on and around the education system.
