President and Prime Minister have greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti. In his Message, the President Mr Pranab Mukherjee has said that the nation recalls with pride Guru Ravidas ceaseless struggle to eradicate the evils of casteism and establish a classless society. Mr Mukherjee wished that Guru Ravi Das teachings of love, compassion, tolerance and equality may inspire people to lead a life of service to humanity.

In his message, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said that Guru Ravidas was a great humanist and social reformer who dedicated his life to spreading the values of equality, universal brotherhood, and tolerance. Dr Singh appealed to the people to re-affirm their commitment to the noble values and ideals that were so dear to Guru Ravidas.
