  • Delhi edition of JFF a success, Many Film celebrities mark the occasion

    jagran Film FestivalNew Delhi : The fourth edition of Jagran Film Festival, that kick started in New Delhi was a huge success among cinema lovers. The event that took place from July 5-9 in prestigious sirifort auditorium, New Delhi brought together many film buffs together. More than 25000 people in total witnessed the film festival that culminated yesterday.

    The film festival was inaugurated by Sh. Manish Tewari, Minister, Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India. Highlight of the festival was presence of many celebrities including actors Sonakshi Sinha, Ranveer Singh, director, Vikramaditya Motwane and producer Ekta Kapoor  whose film “Lootera” was premiered at the opening day of the festival.

    The festival also screened films like Ramesh Sippy’s “Sholay”, Bimal Roy’s “Do Biga Zameen”, Guru Dutt’s “Pyaasa”, “Nayagan”, Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s “Anand”, Vijay Anand’s “Guide” and K. Asif’s “Mughal-e-Azam” among other latest flicks including “Director’s Cut “, “English Vinglish”, “Heroine “.

    The movies were showcased under categories like World Panorama, Indian Showcase, Indian Premiers, Jagran Shorts and Cinema of the Sellers. Interesting panel discussions and master classes were also held during the festival giving an opportunity to interact with film critics and experts.

    Mr Prashant , one of the organiser of the festival said, ” Our aim for organising  this festival is to bridge the gap between acclaimed movies and the movie lovers in farthest part of our country. Also, along with screening movies we conducted workshop,masterclasses and panel discussion to enhance our understanding of the reel world ”

    Mr. Vinod Srivastav, another main organiser added “We have received overwhelming response from Delhi audience, we hope to receive the same in our states also.JFF stands committed to the cause of spreading a culture of cinema appreciation, and the Festival in every year will continue to take stories to audiences across India ”

    The fest was organised by the Directorate of Film Festival of India, Film Federation Of India, Film and Television Institute of India, Prasad Institute, Korean Cultural Centre and Berlinale Shorts.

    The Jagran Film Festival which celebrates 100 glorious years of Indian cinema will be traveling to other parts of the country too covering seven states and 16 cities. Started from Delhi, it will go on to places like Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Meerut, Dehradun, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Indore, Bhopal and Mumbai.
