  • Devotees take holy dip on Kartik Purnima

    On the occasion of Kartik Purnima today, thousands of people are reaching the sites of holy rivers to take a dip on this auspicious day in various parts of Uttar Pradesh.

    Since early morning, a large number of people are coming to the ghats of river Ganga to take a bath in Varanasi.

    The scene was similar at the sangam in Allahabad where thousand of devotees are taking a dip since early morning.

    In Ayodhya, people who have been reaching here since last evening are having a holy dip at river Saryu and worshipping in various temples.

    Meanwhile, Varanasi administration has made adequate arrangements for today’s Dev Diwali.

    Several Committees in Varanasi have announced that they will celebrate Dev Diwali in the evening.

    Dev Diwali is the celebration of Ganga Aaarti with cultural programmes. It is also a major attraction for tourist and locals.

    Guru Nanak Jayanti is also being celebrated with religious devotion and gaiety.

    Special programmes are being organized in Gurudwaras across the state.
