  • Devotees throng the RVM Foundation Shiv Temple on the Auspicious Day of Maha Shivratri

    Bangalore : The RVM Foundation Shiv Temple on Old Airport Road, Bangalore, celebrated Maha Shivratri with excitement & enthusiasm on Thursday, 27thFebruary.  Lakhs of devotees from all walks of life thronged the Shiv Photo 13.Temple & waited for hours in long queues to get a glimpse of Lord Shiva.  The moonless February night saw a celebration with the chant of ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ filling the air.

    This year’s festivities were marked by a Special Gratitude Pooja & spectacular programs like Aabhaar Parikrama, Book Launch of- ‘A Power We Call God’ by RVM, A Unique Light and Sound show, Launch of 3 Bhajan CDs sung by renowned singers like Anuradha Paudwal, Udit Narayan & Kavitha Krishnamurthy & Inauguration of ‘A Tunnel to Heaven’. The devotees got an opportunity to have a quick darshan of the 12 sacred Jyotir Lings, all across India, under one roof at the Barah Jyotir Linga Yatra.

    The temple had organized spiritual activities like ‘aarti every two hours’, ‘all-day-long prasad’ and ‘Letter to God’ where devotees can write a letter to God expressing their wishes and drop it in the holy Havan for their wishes to come true. However, the highlight was the Special Gratitude Pooja, for offering one’s gratitude to God- the Creator.

    “There is no doubt that God exists. Today, people are so busy in their day to day life that they tend to forget God. Therefore, this year Maha Shivratri was celebrated as a day of gratitude. A day that should be entirely devoted to God. It was very heartening to see that lakhs of people came to offer their gratitude to the divine Creator”, said RVM, Founder of the RVM Foundation.
