All pandals  are fitted with CCTV cameras as a security measure. Political parties are using these platforms to reach out the masses with their messages.

In Assam, over 4 thousand puja pandals have been set up across the state. In Guwahati city,  pandals are being organized in over 500 places. Various puja committees are using this platform to create public awareness on subjects like Swachh Bharat mission, women empowerment drive against rhino poaching.

The Durga Puja is also being celebrated across the country including in Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi.
