With the decreasing prices of NAND, today SSD’s are at less than US$1 per GB with forecast of further drops.  Corsair noticed a phenomenal growth in 60GB and 120GB of Force & GT series, whose numbers have doubled. The holding up of pricing by HDD vendors after Thailand floods and the drop of pricing in SSD’s per GB have narrowed the gap between SSDs and the traditional HDDs. Non-availability of enterprise SATA and SAS drives have also helped in the increase of SSD sales.
