  • Eminent Indian Journalist Rama Pandey honoured in London for a lifetime of achievements

    Guwahati: Noted Indian journalist Rama Pandey was honoured with ‘Bharat Gaurav Award’ for her contribution towards Journalism and Activism with a Rama-Pandey-being-honoured-Lifetime Achievement Award. The Award was bestowed upon by NRI Organisation Sanskriti Yuva Sangstha at the House of Commons inside the British Parliament. The other notable awardees included Mrs. Indra K Nooyi, Chaiman & CEO, PepsiCo; Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Prize Winner & Activist; Major Dhayan Chand, India Hockey Captain and ‘Google Boy’ Kautilya.

    Rama Pandey, ex-BBC journalist and a known DD newsreader, has been more than just a pride with her known series ‘Jaane Apna Desh’. With over 250 episodes of ‘Jaane Apna Desh’, Rama Pandey has been very instrumental in preserving India’s forgotten heritage and culture. Now, Rama Pandey is focusing on North East and will work for promoting the culture of the place.

    After being honoured for her work and contribution for the country, Rama Pandey was elated to receive the ‘Bharat Gaurav Award’ at the House of Commons with such notable dignitaries. The writer, poet, journalist, artist have brought on television some interesting and unknown fact of a mystical country like India.

    Receiving the award, Rama Pandey said, “I am honoured with the award and the recognition. With every coming day I am little bit dazzled, amazed and furthermore in love with India. The kind of stories, histories and the mystery revolve around India are worth exploring and talking about. I have just feed my curiosity and with every curious question. I am glad I could contribute for my country.”

    Over the years, personalities like Manoj Kumar, Jagjit Singh, Piyush Pandey, Shubhas Chandra, Avinash Chandra Mannan, Kumar Vishwas and many have been awarded with this prestigious award. Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha is working with its vision to enhance and help Indian culture and civilization to prosper, grow and mark its presence in not only in India but all around world through series of innovative social programs since last 17 years through various social programs and made its own mark in country.
