    The Escape Experience:

The Escape Festival started in May 2009 when a few musicians and likeminded people decided to get away from New Delhi for a few days. They chose a picturesque resort at Naukuchiatal, near the Himalayas which became their Escape. Escape, has grown since then to become one of India’s foremost outdoor music and art festivals. The 2011 edition of Escape had swelled to 2,200 participants over 3 days, with 30 bands ranging from Menwhopause, Reggae Rajahs, Indigo Children, Jalebee Cartel, Kohra, Barefaced Liar, Five8, Half-Step Down, Dhruv Sangari and Rooh. The festival also offered a painting workshop by designer Nitin Bal Chauhan and pottery workshops by awarded potters Ambar and Monica Agnihotri l. The Escape Festival of art and music, which has established itself in the past four years, is the perfect way to spend some quality time with friends and family. It is also one of the first few camping festivals, in the country around a scenic getaway appealing to young and old alike.  In the words of organizer L (Mama) Tochhawng, “The ‘Escape Experience’ is a getaway or an escape from the mundane and the ordinary, into a world of creative expressions by some of the most promising emerging as well as established artists, amidst nature, making for a great vibe.”

The Escape Festival takes place this year at Naukuchiatal, Uttranchal from the 18th to the 20th of May, 2012.
