  • Fiberguide’s Graded Index Fibers Ideal for Telecommunications

    Published on February 1, 2011

Mumbai: For reliable use in data communication links, Fiberguide Industries provides its AGI™ Series of Graded Index Silica core/ Silica clad optical fibres.

The AGI Series offers the high bandwidth of single mode fibres with the convenient termination of step-index multimode fibres. The result is a fibre with good bandwidth that can be used with lower cost light emitting diodes, making it a popular choice for medium distance data communication links such as local area networks (LANs).

Fiberguide Industries is the only supplier of graded index silica fibres to offer premium coatings for reliable performance in extreme temperature conditions such as polyimide (-190ºC to +350 ºC), aluminium (-269ºC to +400 ºC) and gold (-269ºC to +700ºC). Fibres are also available in a variety of sizes to fit customer applications. The AGI Series 50/125 is available with core diameters from 50µm ± 3µm and clad diameters from 125µm ± 1µm/-3µm. The AGI Series 62.5/125 has core diameters from 62.5µm ± 3µm and clad diameters from 125µm + 1µm/-3µm.
