    Published on October 12, 2010

United States : Real Weather Girls™, the first mobile application to offer daily original video content, will be available on Apple’s iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad today.

App users can now take a two-minute vacation from London to Honolulu. The Application will follow the lives of 12 women in 12 cities across the globe (Los Angeles, New York, Miami, DC, London, San Francisco, Dallas, Honolulu, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Las Vegas, with new cities to be added). Buyers will get immediate local, national, and international weather updates, radar maps, and the 7-Day forecast via the App itself while the women share daily video excerpts of their lives. Think of it as the first reality show.

The App represents a change of the technological guard. In addition to providing daily content, the Girls will engage viewers in an ongoing dialogue. Buyers are encouraged to leave comments for the Girls which they will react to on their videos, thus allowing the Girls and users to influence each other. The Girls will also share inside information on her particular city on the best places to eat, see, shop, or the newest trends in fashion and beauty. Real Weather Girls is tantamount to having a mobile global personal concierge service.

“People are using their mobile devices like never before,” said Steve Dworman, founder of Real Weather Girls. “It’s natural that the user experience should make something that they check every day – like the weather – become an exciting and interactive experience. Real Weather Girls will pave the way for a new era of future apps offering live daily content.”

The women include: an aspiring chef who’s part Bond girl and part girly girl; an actress who is the daughter of 1980’s sitcom star Richard Kline; a writer in San Francisco who played Carnegie Hall at 17; and a cheeky British model. There is a different Girl for every App consumer.

Real Weather Girls will retail for USD$2.99. It is on sale at the iTunes App Store.

Real Women. Real Stories. Real Weather. Follow one of them, or follow them all.
