Dreams are not what we see with our eyes closed, but dreams are our reality which we manifest through hard work, dedication, and persistent efforts. Sulabh Bajaj a.k.a Roody Bajaj is one such young DJ who has manifested his dreams into reality while fighting with the demons that pulled him down and the hardships of life that never seem to end.

Having developed a keen sense of music, Roody used to play drums in school and wanted to make his name in the field of music. His aim was not just to earn money but to practice and preach what he believed in and that was nothing more than his love for music and charm to get up on the stage. At the age of 16years, he ran away from his hometown Kanpur in search of better music opportunities. Work his way up the ladder of success, he took training in Deejaying in Mumbai. Being a diligent and assiduous student he learned Deejaying very quickly and even performed at places like J49, Taj Insomnia, Polyesters, Tendulkar’s, etc.

However, life is not always fair to everyone and so was the case with Roody. The social pressure forced Roody to move back to Kanpur as for them the son of a stockbroker could never be a successful DJ. Rather Deejaying was probably not even a profession for them for the art of Deejaying was not valued much back then.  Along with this, Roody’s father has been bedridden for twenty-two years leaving no scope of personal choice for him. Succumbing to family and social pressure, Roody moved back to Kanpur but knowing his vision and having the clarity of thought, he decided to shift to Delhi in 2009.

After this, there was no looking back for Roody. From being one of the most versatile DJs in India, he has managed to leave a mark on the music taste of all youngsters. Being the pioneer of mainstream commercial music in India he is known for spinning live Bollywood remixes, UK bhangra to house, Retro hip hop, and RNB. From being aired on FM stations all over India and Abroad, to being a DJ at most popular clubs and his USP being close Interaction with the crowd and to rocking private parties and PRE wedding functions to the maximum with mainstream Bollywood tunes, Roody is all set to change the tune of Deejaying. However, unlike the mainstream course, the name  Roody also came as an off-roading kick for him. Since he never took a request from people for song choice, they started calling him rood boy, and then he found Roody to be the best fit for him.

Some of the major highlights of Roody’s Deejaying career have been playing at  BLUE FROG DELHI, RESIDENCY AT ROYAL MIRAGE AT SURYA, CAPITOL, F BAR DELHI, QUANTUM, ELEVATES, SHROOMS, SKOOTER, the  GOA – FESTIVAL, WAVE INKONPHANGAN, THAILAND, DRAGON FESTIVALINNEPALKATHMANDU and most inspiring is his performance in IPL 2016/17.

For Roody, being a top DJ in India means, “ I don’t care if it’s Bollywood music, techno, or trance. The motive is for people to enjoy and dance to my tunes. I live for my audience and by the time they and I have a deep connection, there is nothing that can stop me.” In simple words, the message is to dance, and dance like no one is watching to the tunes of Roody. Roody wants every aspiring DJ to know that their name, place of birth, or social background won’t matter because all that matters today is how much they are willing to work on themselves and get up even after every force would try to knock them down.
