Pune,  : Gabriel India Limited,a pioneer of Shock Absorbers and other Ride Control Products in India, announced the induction of a new Chairperson of its Board of Directors.

 Mrs. Anjali Anand Singh, currently the Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Anand Group, of which Gabriel India is a constituent, has taken over today as the new Chairperson of Gabriel India’s Board of Directors from Mr. Deepak Chopra, the CEO of Anand Group. Anand Group is one of the leading Automotive Components and Systems manufacturers in India and also has a luxury hospitality vertical, SUJAN.

Commenting on the change Mr. Deepak Chopra, Anand Group CEO said “I am delighted to welcome Anjali to chair the Board of Gabriel India, the flagship and the only public listed entity of Anand Group. Anjali has inherited from her father Mr. Deep C. Anand, Anand Founder and Indian Automotive Industry pioneer, the Anand values of partnership, people orientation and professionalism. This along with Anjali’s education in Fine Arts and Business and almost a decade’s invaluable experience in the Automotive and Hospitality verticals of Anand, of which last three years has been as Chairperson of the Anand Supervisory Board, will enable her to steer Gabriel India in consolidating its leadership position in Ride Control products and in its efforts to globalise. Gabriel India has a tremendous growth potential and a great future and as CEO of Anand, I will continue to guide and support it, while it will provide me more time and flexibility to focus on other businesses of Anand as well.”

Taking over as Chairperson, Mrs. Singh expressed her joy on being nominated as Chairperson of the Board and thanked all her fellow Board members for reposing faith in her. She also thanked Mr. Chopra for having led the Company through a very critical period of downturn in the Economy and Indian Automotive Industry over last three years during which the company has grown ahead of the market and improved its market share. Mrs. Singh assured the Board that she will put in her best efforts in her new role as Board Chairperson to contribute proactively towards making Gabriel a formidable and distinguished brand globally in the automotive industry.
