Minister of Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari on Wednesday inaugurated the Multi Media Campaign ‘Glimpses of India Story’ at a bharatnirmanglittering function in New Delhi.

As part of the campaign, achievement of the government for the past nine years will be highlighted.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari said that with this campaign, government would try to reach the people informing them about various welfare schemes of the government.

I&B Minister Manish Tewari said that a “silent revolution” had taken place in the country in the past decade and a rights based infrastructure had been created which had empowered people, whose story had to be told.

“Often the voice of the silent majority is lost in the discourse that happens around the two and a half miles of Raisina hill. So there is an effort to highlight the narrative of development of the country,” Tewari said.

He was questioned as to why in the latest phase of the campaign, the ministry had included a number of audio-visual clips which showed legislations not yet passed by Parliament.

“We have clearly put forth the intentions and policy before the people. And whichever matter is before the parliament, clearly we have declared and presented the actual facts and situation before the people.”

He said that in the previous phase of the campaign – the glimpses of India story part I – they had focused on 13 initiatives while in the latest campaign new initiatives have been included.
