Gold and silver climbed at Delhi’s bullion market, on Wednesday, on brisk buying by stockists for the ongoing marriage season, amid firm global cues. Gold rose 80 rupees, to 22,350 rupees per ten grams. Silver gained 550 rupees, to 53,750 rupees per kilo.
In the global markets, gold advanced 0.4 per cent, to 1,493 dollars an ounce. Silver moved up 1.1 per cent, to 34.31 dollars an ounce. The precious metals rose, as signs of a slowdown in the global economy, the sovereign debt crisis in Europe, and a declining dollar bolstered demand for a safe haven investment.
