Mr. John Fleming, Principal Commercial Officer, South India from the Consulate General of the United States, inaugurated the new restaurant and was pleased to be part of the grand opening. Habanero, a unique restaurant with food from the Mexico and the American Southwest has soaked up the region’s cheerful culture and the flavors of Mexican border cuisine. The restaurant has a high-energy, fun atmosphere and authentic tastes which will offer an unforgettable experience to all diners. The eatery serves hearty vegetarian and non-vegetarian fares with classic Mexican tastes, and Texas-influenced American items. The elaborate menu features nachos, burritos, quesadillas, Mexican rice bowls, and refreshing mocktailsthat go perfectly with the cuisine.

Habanero was founded in Bangalore in 2011 by a husband-and-wife team: Griffith David, who grew up in India and was schooled in Tamil Nadu, and Elizabeth Bowden-David, a native of the US. Currently the brand has three outlets in Bangalore and one opening early next year in Hyderabad. Ms. Bowden-David was present at the launch of the Chennai outlet. Speaking on this occasion, she said”Chennai is an excitingmetropolis with a distinct culture and a mix of people from all over India and indeed the world.
