The standards of Gujarati Cinema had first been raised by the hit film Kevi Rite Jaish, then The Good Road, and now this December it gets even better with Happy Familyy Pvt Ltd! The film has been shot mostly in Bhuj and partly in Mumbai. Happy Familyy Pvt Ltd is pure family entertainment, which will make members of all age groups laugh! With a fresh concept and new take on the modern Gujarati family, this film will surely stand out.

The film poses the question, “What would life be like without the concept of money?” An interesting theme and of course it gets even funnier when the rich and dysfunctional Mehta family of Mumbai gets stuck in a place where their money means nothing! The film’s title comes from the name of a company, which is owned by the Mehtas, who are not truly happy! Each family member seems to be too caught up in their own life to really understand what the concept of ‘family’ really means. Will being stuck in this crazy village called Antillapur – which strictly funtions off the barter system, bring the Mehtas closer together?

Happy Familyy Pvt Ltd stars Rajeev Mehta, who is best known for playing the role of the lovable, yet silly, Praful on the hit TV show “Khichdi.” In Happy Familyy Pvt Ltd, we will see him play the complete opposite as the egoistic Uttam Mehta. Vrajesh Hirjee, who is also known for his comic roles, manages to bring humor to his villainous character – Pinky bhai! When both actors were asked why this film would be a ‘must-see,’ Rajeev Mehta answered, “Its rare to have a clean family comedy these days – and we can proudly say that this is one film that you would love to see with the family!” Vrajesh Hirjee added, “While remaining rooted in the Gujarati cultural ethos, Happy Family Pvt Ltd portrays the vibrancy of young Gujaratis – which the youth will immediately connect to.” Speaking of ‘firsts’ – the film is the first Gujarati film to come out with a motion poster – much like the trend in Bollywood (Dhoom 3).

With the catchy theme track sung by Divya Kumar, and the amazing chemistry between veterans and newcomers (Karan Ashar & Samvedna Suwalka), the film is set to rock! The film’s idea came about when Nina Srivastava, Salil Jamdar, Anand Doshi (Producer) and Raghuvir Joshi (Director) got together to come up with a new, yet relatable, concept. Happy Family Pvt Ltd will be released in 100+ screens throughout Mumbai & Gujarat on December 6th 2013.
