Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said, a decent house is the fundamental aspiration of every individual and the success of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana reflects the government’s commitment towards the same.

The Minister said this after launching 352 affordable housing projects of CREDAI at the Game Changer – CREDAI national investiture ceremony in Gandhinagar today.

Welcoming the initiatives led by CREDAI to provide affordable housing across the country, Mr Naidu said, government has introduced series of reforms like GST and Real Estate Regulatory Act to boost investment in real estate sector in order to achieve the dream of housings for all by 2022. He assured the industry that the revolutionary real estate bill passed by the government is not to obstruct but to regulate the sector.

The minister said the sudden escalation land prices has made the real estate unreal and unaffordable for poor, but the corrective action taken by government as well as industries will soon make it a realistic one. He also said following the increase in deposits of banks after demonetisation, banks are now in position to give more credits to real estate projects.
