  • How to make the most of your online training?

    Published on October 6, 2018

You wanted to learn something new from the convenience of your home. After thorough research, you got yourself enrolled in an online training. You had everything planned out, but the outcome isn’t what you had in mind. To help you avoid some of the common mistakes that students make and yield the best possible outcome from the training, we have listed few things you could do.

    1. Timetable: The biggest perk online training has to offer is the flexibility. You can pursue it at your own convenience, but it is essential to realise that it should be used as an advantage rather than a disadvantage. Students after enrolling start procrastinating and end up not finishing the training. So to avoid that it is essential to break down each module and make a timeline for respective modules on the basis of the content. Apart from making it a seamless journey, it would also help you in realising the progress made and the journey you are yet to cover.

    1. Practice:The knowledge that you gain can only be effective if you practice. So, to ensure that you gain an in-depth knowledge about the subject, it is quintessential to practice all that you have learned and thus put to the test your abilities and skills attained by completing the test and assignments on time. You could even browse the internet for more study material or make a problem statement of your own that you can solve using the skills attained.

    1. Research and seek answers: While learning, it is normal to have doubts, but it is equally important that you seek answers for things you didn’t quite understand. Jot down every doubt you have and then reach out to support or the subject matter expert for the answers. The more unresolved doubts you have, the less you will learn. So, remember, you are an anonymous user to the platform so your doubts as frivolous they may be, can be asked without hesitation.

    1. Practical application: So, you have learned all that you wanted to but how to put them to the test? Well, that is where practical application comes. The new perspective that you gained from the learning should be put to the test by figuring out better ways of evaluating a problem. To look for problems or ideas that could be solved using the application of the training. The knowledge gained from the online training will help put you a step ahead of your peers and a certificate at the successful completion of the training will help validate that as well.

Initially, things might be a little difficult to manage but remember that you have already taken the hardest step – realizing the need to upskill yourself and enrolling in training. During the training, if you ever start to jitter, remember why you joined the training and what you wish to gain because once you have a clear sight of the goal, there isn’t much that would deter you from your path.
