birds-display-at-petex-2 Hyderabad is a prominent market for pet care. The city with its varied economy and its historic affinity towards pets, sees a large pet population that eventually turns into potential market for pet care.

The Indian pet care industry is growing fast and owes its surge to the changing trends and increasing interest in owning pets.  It has evolved into more than  5000 crore industry

The industry is on the threshold of attaining double digit growth in retail segment. The penchant of the pet parent for quality care has added more muscle to the industry. With more than 6 lac pets being adopted every year, the industry’s annual growth is pegged at 10-15% while the year 2015 witnessed a business of around _ 900 crores. The forecast of sales for packaged dog & cat food in 2016 is around _ 700 crores.

The growth is primarily attributed to the changing perceptions that earlier saw pets as just animals. Today, pets have redefined their own presence shining as symbols of economic stature, companions in safety, security, becoming a part of many families. This has led to a broadening of industry horizons from makers of pet care products to providers of physical care including pet sitting and medical care.

The mix of B2B and partly B2C features makes it unique for traders to meet not only the consumers but also peers, exporters, importers besides the intellectual and scientific community to seek essential and timely knowledge support.

At a juncture where expansion plans are being driven holistically rather than physically, it becomes imperative for ambitious pet care traders to get a hands-on understanding of the trends and breakthroughs that are perfectly poised at PETEX INDIA 2016. For end users too, it is an important window that opens up to not just variety and depth, but the ecosystem as a whole that inspires more people to embrace pets with care and compassion.
