    Published on January 9, 2012

Hyderabad: The International VLSI and Embedded Systems community converged together for the Silver Jubilee Conference in HICC, Hyderabad to reveal the latest trends and market figures, share best practices and address industry challenges. The city is known globally for developing World’s First Fusion chip for Net book & Tablets, Audio Platform for Apple including single chip developed for multimedia mobile phones like LG by a team of design specialists from Indian Design Teams.

For the last 24 years, the annual International VLSI and Embedded Systems has been World’s leading conference for VLSI & Embedded Systems.  With over 450 conference delegates, 50 leading speakers and a wealth of collaborative and networking opportunities, it has been the must attend conference for all VLSI and Embedded Systems professionals.

The Silver Jubilee conference with the theme ‘Embedded Solutions for Emerging Markets- Consumer, Energy, Automotive’ was formally inaugurated by Shri. Ponnala Lakshmaiah Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Government of Andhra Pradesh at HICC, Novotel Hyderabad today in the presence of Steering Committee Chair, Dr. Vishwani Agrawal Auburn University, USA, Conference Special Chair Shri. JA Chowdary, Shri Dasaradha R Gude, Conference Convener and many top-notch technologists, professionals, academicians and students.

,“To be globally competitive it is crucial to develop, comprehend and tap this technology. The International VLSI and Embedded Systems Conference initiated 25 years ago to give a thrust to build a strong R&D base, trained manpower and encouraging entrepreneurship has provided momentum to this sector. Today, cities like Hyderabad has emerged as a leading global destination for VLSI Design with worlds first Fusion Chip and Audio Technology for Apple developed from Hyderabad.”   Dasradha R Gude, Convenor of Silver Jubilee International VLSI and Embedded Systems Conference said

VLSI Design is growing at an exponential rate as there are over 130 chip design firms present in India with many of the global majors and other VLSI, embedded systems, hardware or board design and small start-ups concentrating on circuit design and CAD simulation located in Hyderabad helped the city to emerge as an important center for chip design. Hyderabad also boasts hugely talented skilled professionals for embedded systems and very large-scale integration (VLSI) design meeting the need of the industry with institution like JNTUH, IIIT-H, VEDA IIT,BITS-Hand many other specialised skill training and development academic institutes supporting the growth of this sector.

“At the 2012 conference we have our best conference programme and lineup of speakers yet! With keynote addresses, case studies, technical sessions, theory presentations and practical debate this is a great opportunity to listen to – and interact with – some of the leading thinkers, visionaries and practitioners in the VLSI learning today.” Dasaradha R Gude, Silver Jubilee Conference Convener, said.

Embedded systems market, which is one of the key drivers of Indian R&D off shoring and is currently pegged at around US$ 25 billion globally, growing at a 16% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and this is one the important reason for the growth of size of the Indian Embedded System market.

The State of Andhra Pradesh exported IT products worth Rs 35,022 crore in 2010-11, contributing 14 per cent to national IT exports and 38.22 per cent to overall exports from the State. According to reports of Knight Frank and New York Times State capital Hyderabad, continues to be a hot favourite for global investors and ranks well in global list of most liveable cities.

The 5 day event includes 2 days of Tutorials and 3 day of Conference starting from January 7, 2012. The conference also features Students Conference at International Standards with focus ondesign a tablet PC from specifications to Silicon and from Silicon to product. It has also a feature Student Project Contest to give an opportunity to the students to demonstrate their projects.
