(Nasdaq: EXTR) a worldwide Ethernet network leader, today announced that India’s Times Internet Limited, a subsidiary of the leading Indian news publisher, the Times of India Group, has selected its energy efficient and high performance 10 Gigabit network core, data center, and edge solutions. The data center network is designed to enable 40 of its popular web sites to remain consistently available and for its millions of regular visitors to gain immediate access and services.

Extreme Networks’ innovative stackable fixed switching solutions, with scalability and energy efficiency, provide a network that is highly reliable and cost-effective.

The switches are deployed to create a redundant, high performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet network for its data center, while Extreme Networks Summit X450e fixed switches power the network edge. The Summit X650 switches enable the Times Internet Limited to realize measurable power savings compared to a network design based on chassis switches, and to reduce OPEX with lowered cooling costs, as part of an intelligent network design that features a stack of Summit X650 fixed 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches.
