India eyes Iranian market for tea export

India has been eyeing a growing Iranian market for the export of Indian tea. Over the past two years tea exports from India to Iran have picked up from 7 million kg in 2010-11 to 16.8 million kg in 2012-13.
Around 10 per cent of India’s foreign exchange earnings from tea come from exports to Iran. The Tea Board of India has set a target of exporting 30 million kgs. of tea to Iran by 2015.
